People working in schools are uniquely placed to notice signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect. Staff in schools have a professional duty to support and help children. It is everybody's responsibility and our mindset is that "It could happen here".

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families and carers has a role to play. In order to fulfill this responsibility effectively, all professionals should make sure their approach is child-centered. This means that they should consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child. School staff have a duty, as a professional, to respond to any safeguarding needs.
If anyone has any reason to suspect that a pupil has suffered discrimination or bullying, or is likely to suffer significant harm, you must inform the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) immediately. Our staff will follow the procedures according to our Child Protection Policy, which is available below.
Our Governor with responsibility for Safeguarding are:
Mrs Alison Hitchen
